WOW! It’s so GREAT to see the colored shot. The lines and all of the vivid colors take me back to memories of other amazing Don Bluth movies! I just LOVE all the detail! 😀 And young Dirk’s expression, makes me really curious to know what’s going on off-camera. LOL This is a great update, thanks so much for sharing! ^_^

Just seeing this one frame of traditional animation is refreshing, especially in this age of CG animation.

That looks excellent, and what’s really cool is kid Dirk is wearing the same color scheme as his Knight’s outfit in Dragon’s Lair. The shadow against the chair gives it extra depth, and the colors and shading of the background are colorful. The checker tile floor also resembles the scene from the game where Dirk has to jump and dodge the Dark Knight’s sword electricity flowing through the ground.

I assume Dirk is giving young Daphne a piece of his mind in this pic. So cool. Beautiful visual. Can’t wait to see more. Thanks Gary, Don and the Dragon’s Lair team. Keep it up.

This looks stunning! But just one question:

“who is painting digitally for this project.”

Isnt painting done with pencil and by hand?

It looks amazing! I wish I knew what was going on off screen that has Dirk making that face.

Oh geez, I’m having flashbacks to my job teaching grade school. Except the chairs weren’t that nice.

What software are you using for coloring? Just curious. Good job so far by the way! 😀

Question if you wow the company with your pitch how much funding do you wish or expect to receive? Also will Doug Walker (Nostalgia Critic) be a cameo in your movie as something minor like town crier?

Looks fantastic. Just wondering, though, is this the kind of background painting style you have planned for the movie? I just rewatched The Secret of Nimh, and those watercolor backgrounds are simply breathtaking, maybe the most beautiful background art I’ve seen in any animated movie. Will the final product have more of a painterly style than the color keys we’ve seen so far?

I think Dirk might’ve been in a tanning bed a bit too long, because his skin color looks pretty toned down.
