This is awesome, fellas. Nice job AS ALWAYS. You know, when this becomes a hit upon theatrical release, I do hope you’ve considered creating a game for platforms AND arcades. Sure would be amazing to see another animated arcade game come from the powers at Bluth. This time, laserdiscs won’t be the only way to tell the story….

Wowsers! The animation looks so good. Traditional has always been a love of mine.

  3. Julio Cabral says:

Amazing! Grum looks and sounds so incredibly funny. Classic Bluth animation. I’m so excited for the final pitch piece. Keep up the great work. And thanks for all the perk deliveries. Over the moon with my perks.

  4. Suzanne King says:

    Awesome! Keep it coming!

  5. Marin Kalebota says:

Huge congratulations to Lavalle Lee for voicing Grum! What an incredible surprise!

I would settle for one last laserdisc type game from Bluth. All the technology today would make one unforgettable experience.

The pitch seems to be shaping up great. Can’t wait to see it all.

  7. Brian says:

WOW! SUPER Impressive as always! ^_^ Thanks for sharing the videos!!

Coincidentally, the package with the physical perks, (t-shirt, hat, etc) arrived the other day, ON my birthday! LOL It was so cool having something arrive to open! Made things EXTRA fun! 😀

    Wow! The animator lessons will be coming up that soon? I guess I’d better get better acquainted with Skype! Is it ok that I don’t have a webcam? I have a headset, though I haven’t tried it yet… ^_^;;

Regarding the animation lesson perk. Will we be able to share some pieces via e-mail as links or attachments before the lessons at some point? So Mr. Bluth has an idea of where we are, strengths, weaknesses, that kind of thing? Or is that going to be only doable during the lesson?
    Thanks so much! ^_^

    • Hello Brian! We are pleased you received your perks on your birthday!

When it comes to the lesson, we recommend every student has a cam available, it might be hard to do the lesson without it. It would be best to do some tests with Skype. We will be sending out an email that covers the rest of your questions, be on the look out.

      Best, Don & Gary

It was an AMAZING coincidence! 😀

I guess I will need to find out where I can buy a webcam then.

Ok, sounds great! I’m very curious how this will work. In the meantime, I will practice using Skype. 🙂

Thanks for the quick and informative reply!

Wow this is so amazing looking! I love the color and the pencil cleanup. This will be so fun to study. Who did the inbetweens for this shot? Every drawing is gold.

Let’s get this project funded y’all. Spread the word!

The animation looks beautiful! I’m so excited to see this progress, and even more excited for the final version (but by all means, please take all the time it needs to lovingly complete)!

As for the perks, is the “Art Of” book still available? If so, I’d be interested in ordering one. If not, I’m sorry I missed my chance!

It looks awesome! Great animation and great color work! (y)

  18. Watching traditional animation always brings me such joy, especially when it is as smooth and professional as this! Things that mean little or nothing to me in 3D are everything in 2D (and I say that as someone who has worked with both.) Every small motion, every flutter of cloth or hair, has to be planned and drawn with utmost skill, not automated with an algorithm. This is absolutely beautiful work!

I am so stoked about this! I’m really hoping this puts to rest the myth that “The Princess and the Frog killed 2D because no one wants to see 2D anymore”. It was actually marketing and certain leaks about racially insensitive choices that made TP&TFr fail (ie: not make quite as much money as they wanted), but you know some people will just rest their oars on that BS “this proves 2D sucks” excuse (and who can blame them, trying to protect their job security, I guess). All it would take is a traditional film to make it big to destroy that slander, and Bluth and Goldman might just be the best hope for that! And by God I can’t wait to see traditional animation make a comeback, as stop motion has!

    Looking forward to seeing more!

  19. Beautiful work!…. so charming! The acting is so fascinating! really love that motion of the two arms folding together during the dialogue; definitely worth while to study these two clips over frame by frame.
Lavalle, excellent work with the voice acting!….

I’ve loved Dragon’s Lair from the day it first hit arcades, and I can’t wait to see the work all of you have done. A wish of Super Good Luck for the pitch! 😀
