On the first of February of 1994 – Don & Gary were contracted to help 20th Century Fox create a feature animation studio and be the Producer/directors to oversee productions conceived by talented scriptwriters. Soon after, Fox announced the engagement to the film trade papers and major newspapers. Quickly they produced a recruitment animation brochure – see below, and within a few months there were inundated with an excess of 10,000 work applications from around the world. Don & Gary were moved from Dublin Ireland to sunny Phoenix, Arizona in August of that same year and with an agreed plan to re-conceive a well-located, modern building into an animation facility. The challenge was to populate the studio with enough veteran animation staffers to help train young graduating-talent from animation programs in various colleges in America and other countries.

They brought with them 65 of the folks that had trained and worked with them on their previous six films, produced in Ireland. The brochure was used to recruit animation artists and technicians to fill the estimated staff of 316. The brochure information was about living in Phoenix. At the time it was the 5th fastest growing city in America. It has many theaters with live performance, concert halls and all four major league sports, the Phoenix Suns, basketball, the Phoenix Coyotes, hockey, the Arizona Cardinals and indoor football, The Arizona Rattlers. By the time they were given the green light to produce Anastasia in October of 1995, their crew was made of artists from 14 countries, America, Brazil, Canada, Philippines, Germany, East Germany, England, Ireland, British Columbia, Spain, Venezuela, Quebec, Australia and Denmark.
