The Three Cat Sisters, Melina, Cleo and Zazu

Way back, 40+ years back! At a recording session, producing the songs for Banjo the Woodpile Cat some time in early 1976. From the left Sally Stevens, Sue Allen and Jackie Ward. The three of them also sang for the three cats sisters, Melina, Cleo and Zazu. The photo is a bit blurred due to the darkness of the recording studio. At the right of Jackie Ward is Don next to John Pomeroy. In the foreground at right is a blurry Gary and at the left a silhouette of music conductor, Robert Brunner. Besides writing, directing, storyboarding and animating much of the film, Don wrote all the lyrics and melodies of the songs. They had to record the songs before animating the characters in order to keep the action to the beat of the song and sync the lyrics to the characters’ mouths. See Banjo the Woodpile Cat part 2

Sally Stevens was brought in to sing the Flying Dreams lullaby version in the “Timmy’s sick” sequence of The Secret of NIMH (1982).

This is one of your movies I don’t think I have seen.. I’ve heard of it, but I’m pretty sure I haven’t seen it. I’ll have to see if I can find a copy on eBay or something. 😉 Also, the youtube link doesn’t seem to be working for me. I copied the link, and it said that the video does not exist. 🙁 I tried it a few times.
At any rate, this was an interesting read. ^_^ And I really like the “Flying Dreams” song in Secret of NIMH. 😀 It’s also neat to see the photos you guys share with these updates. ^_^ Whether Dragon’s Lair project-related or not, I always look forward to the new updates here. ^_^ Thanks for sharing! 😀

That version of Flying Dreams is one I have been hearing in my head many times a week for my whole life. Thank you for letting us see the people who performed so many songs so beautifully.

Someone asked an interesting qwuestion at the Indiegogo channel about the BluRay bundle: Are you going to sign the BluRays directly on the BluRay cover or on the celllophane wrapping? The BluRay cover would be indeed better, cause that way we also could play the movies from BluRay. Thanks in advance for any info. BTW Is there already some time frame for this awesome bundle?
